Safegarding Children

The Pitcairn Island community and Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) have been working together to educate the community and create a robust child safeguarding framework on Pitcairn.

The Adamstown Neighbourhood

Most Pitcairners live in and around Adamstown, the original home of the mutineers, though some newer homes have been built at the top of the island to make the most of the incredible views.

The People of Pitcairn

The majority of Pitcairn Islanders are descended from the nine mutineers of Bounty who, led by Fletcher Christian, landed there in 1790 with six Polynesian men, twelve Polynesian women, and an infant girl.
